Services

Start with one invoice. Everything beyond that is scoped only if the first review finds something worth pursuing.

Three levels of work

Free bill review

One Eskom invoice, recomputed line by line from the published tariff rules. Five working days from receiving the figures. No cost, no obligation, and the report is yours.

No cost

Billing review and tariff exposure

Multiple months or multiple points of delivery. Identifies persistent variances, tests how tariff structure changes land on your actual consumption shape, and produces the supporting analysis if you intend to query a charge with Eskom.

Scoped per engagement

Transaction support

Independent review of a wheeling or power purchase agreement model, for buyers, lenders and credit teams. Recomputes the claimed saving from first principles against the published tariff rules and the regulator's decisions.

Scoped per engagement

The free review either finds nothing, which is a useful answer in itself, or it finds something. If it does, we can discuss whether a wider review is worth doing. There is no obligation either way.

We produce the analysis. Querying a charge with Eskom is yours to do, or your advisers', and we do not represent anyone in a dispute.

The free bill review

What we need

The figures only, not the invoice document.

  • Kilowatt-hours by time-of-use period and season
  • Chargeable demand and utilised capacity, in kilovolt-amperes
  • Days in the billing period and number of points of delivery
  • Voltage band and transmission distance zone
  • The charge lines, excluding Value-Added Tax

What comes back

The reconciliation, line by line: what the published rules produce for each charge, what the invoice charged, and the variance between them.

Turnaround

Five working days from receiving the figures.

Cost

Free, with no obligation. The report is yours to keep.

What a reconciliation looks like

Specimen. The rates are Eskom's published 2026/27 rates. The consumption and demand figures are illustrative and do not describe any real customer.

Two lines disagree. The network demand charge has been applied to utilised capacity rather than chargeable demand, and the ancillary service charge to a kilowatt-hour total that is not the one metered. Both are basis errors rather than wrong rates, which is the kind that survives a look down the invoice.

Questions

What do you do with our figures?
We need the numbers, not your identity: no account name, site address or meter serial. They are not shared with anyone. We will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request. We hold no security certification and do not claim one.
What format do you need?
A spreadsheet, a table in an email, or a screenshot of the charge summary. We do not need the invoice document itself.
Can you review historic bills?
Back to the tariff years we hold, currently 2025/26 and 2026/27. Earlier years would need those schedules loaded first.
Do you cover anything besides Eskom?
Today the model covers Eskom tariffs, including Megaflex, WEPS, Miniflex and Ruraflex, with the transmission and distribution components used in wheeling. It does not cover municipal distributor tariffs, residential tariffs, or utilities other than Eskom.
What if you find nothing?
That is a valid and useful result, and it is reported the same way. Knowing a bill is right is worth having.

What is coming

We intend to measure South Africa's new wholesale electricity market from the point it opens.
